i play., Inc. Is the original swim diaper manufacturer with over 20 years of experience developing and testing a unique, patented, and approved swim diaper. Swim diapers have become an important health issue and public pools in over 27 states now require and encourage the use of approved swim diapers, which means waterproof pants with snug-fitting legs and waist. i play. swim diapers can help prevent embarrassing accidents, as well as provide ultimate secure protection for babies and swimmers. The patented triple-layer protection includes a wicking liner to pull moisture away from baby's skin and prevent diaper rash, an absorbent layer for protection outside the pool, and a waterproof layer to prevent unsanitary accidents.
We just got this so I haven't had a chance to use it yet....but wanted to comment on the look and fit.I originally got the Light Blue Hawaiian. I thought it was cute, but my husband immediately said that it was too girly. I can see what he means....the pattern is hard to mistake for just being "flowery". I'm already putting his 20 month old son in speedos, and so I think the combo of that, the colors and pattern was a tad to much for him (and he isn't a machismo either...he wears skinny jeans and tight t shirts for example). Needless to say, we switched it out for the darker blue one (thanks Amazon). Soo there's that. The fit seems right. For my 20 month old who is about 22 lbs, I got the 24 month size. I think the legs are right enough, although we shall see when a #2 happens (I will update). My son is quite skinny though, so I would advise most who have this age to go with the 24 months because I think it will be tight but not too right (you know your kid though, and if he is 98% for weight, then size the kid up).We used an iplay diaper last year (white with buttons on the side), and it was great - but we never experienced a poo, so I don't know if it would have held (but I think it would have bc the legs were tight and every reviewer said it would).I have used iplay diapers since the summer of 2014. My first usage was with my 6 month old, and until this summer, I got all mine from Target. However now that 6 month old is 2.5 & has legs the size of a 3.5 year old. Swim diapers tend to size small, so I went with a size 4 for him, which I couldn't find that size in any store. The size 4 fits perfect. [He wears in between 2 & 3 pants, and some size 4 shirts to give you an idea on his size] New to me was that this diaper snaps up the side. Love. Love that. I have had to change tight, filled with poop, swim diapers, and it isn't fun attempting to wiggle a toddler out of those. These snaps make removing the diaper so much easier. The diapers are easy to clean. The colors were vibrant, and 3 weeks in, still are. I actually held on to all of mine, so my now 3 month old has them to use. Most ppl resell theirs though, and they keep most of their value when doing that. I would definitely suggest investing in reusable swim diapers, and the price on amazon was comparable to Target.I read tons of reviews before purchasing this swim diaper in a size 4T. My son is 2 years old - in a size 24 months/2T pants and a size 5 diaper and the 4T fits him well now. Definitely size up a few sizes! I purchased the Viking blue pattern and it's adorable. Disposable swim diapers were giving him rashes on his thighs from the friction of a wet diaper - we haven't experienced that with these reusable swim diapers. The diaper fits great around the waist and leg holes.I took off one star because of the absorbency. These hold in messes really well BUT they retain tons of water. When my son swims, the diaper begins to sag because it absorbs cups of water. I have to constantly squeeze his bum area to get rid of the water otherwise he looks like he's running around with a load in his pants. These swim diapers are were cute and fit pretty well. The only downside is that they only have snaps on 1 side. When you have a wet poopy diaper it's A MESS! It's almost as if the diaper had no snaps because you still have to pull it down the leg on one side. The first time we changed a poopy diaper my husband even ended up with poop on his pants and our baby had poop on one leg and foot. It wasn't pretty...I must say though I wasn't even able to tell that he pooped. So the diaper did a really good job keeping the poop in the diaper without any leeks. If you're a cloth diaper mom I'm sure it's totally fine but if you're not like me, you might want to only use them if you are pretty sure your baby won't poop or use it sort of like a cover for your disposable diaper. The toddler swimming class (and swim facility) that we participate has a "double-diaper" policy to be in the pool. It means toddlers must wear a waterproof diaper over the disposable swim diaper. This was the brand they sell at their swim shop. I bought it on Amazon.com instead. The sizing is true-to-size if your child is average sized. BUT if you are using this to go over a disposable diaper, get 2 sizes bigger than what your child would wear normally.I have a chubby 18-months-old and he wears a 2T. I ordered this swim diaper in both 3T and 4T. The 4T fit much better over the disposable diaper. The 3T was too tight around his legs to swim comfortably.I'm guessing this swim diaper is designed to be snug in order to keep any BM's in, if an "accident" should occur. We haven't had any "accidents" in the pool yet but If we do, I'll bet it would be in the diaper and not in the pool.My son is required to wear a reusable swim diaper as part of camp.SIZE - This is definitely on the small side, but luckily my guy is tiny, and I sized up, so it worked out.FEATURES - The tiny bit of extra fabric in the crotch is annoying for my son, who is potty trained, and doesn't want to wear "diapers" any more. However, it's a plus for anybody looking to avoid tiny spills. Also the snaps on the side seem like a great feature should we have any #2 accidents, but they don't dig in to his sides (which is a pet peeve of his).BOTTOM LINE - Seems like it's a good quality swim diaper with nice features, just be sure to size up.Just when I didn't think my baby could be any cuter. ERMAHGERD, so adorable!I own a few swim diapers and this one is my favorite. Very well made, I can tell it will hold up nicely. You don't need to wear anything with it/in it. All you need is this! The side snaps make it SUPER easy to get on and off.Size wise: I always buy up just because I would rather my kid grow into things. So I ordered an 18 month size for my 7 month old (who is 99%tile in all growth measurements) ....my son normally wears size 12 months. So yes, I would order a size up than your kid normally wears.Tip: since its made to keep things in, it will also hold water as you get out. so make sure you take the diaper off outside or you will have a big puddle of water if you take it off inside :)3歳くらいまで履けそうなサイズです。
