I started with this book in 1988. After 22yrs in my craft this book still stands out. I was young and just wanted to rock and Peter Magadini got me there with this book. The lessons are short and to the point. This book not only taught me how to read drum music it also encouraged me to jump in immediately. Peter shows you a groove then he would say, "you try it". It teaches various styles and encourages you to turn off the tape put the book down and improvise. I have encouraged my beginning students to purchase this book. It has been invaluable. Thanks Pete!
